Jason Riddick

Principal

Jason Riddick is a creative, entrepreneurial, and aggressive litigation attorney with nearly two decades of experience representing both Plaintiffs and Defendants in state and federal courts throughout the country. Since opening Riddick Law APC in 2018, it has been Jason’s passion and privilege to work directly for individuals and businesses throughout California to achieve their goals by providing sophisticated and aggressive counsel at a fair price.

Jason has been recognized in Southern California Super Lawyers® as a Rising Star in litigation in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017, and was a Moot Court Judge for the UCLA School of Law Moot Court in 2017. He graduated from U.C. Berkeley School of Law in 2004. He resides in Malibu with his wife and three children.

Before founding Riddick Law, Jason practiced at Alschuler Grossman, the international law firm Bingham McCutchen, and the national firm Dykema Gossett, LLP.

2023

Secured voluntary dismissal of all claims against client in real estate partnership dispute after two years of litigation. The client paid no money or property in exchange for dismissal of all claims against client including fraud and embezzlement.   Mehmet Huseyin Sugut v. Obtained outright dismissal of lawsuit against clients wrongly accused of fraudulent transfer; awarded attorney fees as sanctions under Civil Code Section 128.5.  ATM Professional Inc. v. Repiping.com Inc. (LASC Case No. 21STCV46587) (2023)

Obtained substantial settlement just before trial on behalf of clients for breach of oral partnership agreement and elder abuse related to a real estate joint venture. 

Arbitration before Los Angeles County Bar Association which successfully reduced fees owed by client to client’s former attorneys (2023)

2022

AAA arbitration win on behalf of software as a service company for breach of master service agreement by franchisor, including award of prevailing party attorneys’ fees and costs (2022)

Bench trial win – obtaining multiyear civil harassment / stalking restraining order against represented employee under CCP 527.6 (including rare order to turnover order regarding stolen company property and order of no contact with third party associates of business owner, pursuant to CCP 527.6(b)(6)(A)) (2022)

Summary judgment win in federal interpleader matter on behalf of owner of first CBD retail stores in West Los Angeles, affirmed on appeal (2022) See Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. v. After filing summary judgment motion in State court, obtained favorable settlement in corporate control lawsuit concerning ownership of retail businesses. Akopyan v. Zadourian, et al. (LASC Case. No. 20STCV24920) (2022)

Complete defense victory on summary judgment for Bell Canyon homeowner sued by contents cleaning company for nonpayment of six figure invoice. WBN Home Design, Inc. v. USARESTORATIONPROS Inc. DBA USA RESTORATION, VCSC (56-2020-00539007-CU-BC-VTA (2022) (2022)

Obtained pre-judgment writ of possession against contents cleaning company that wrongfully withheld elderly couple’s lifetime of possessions under color of a possessory lien for unpaid services, demanding a $750,000 ransom in inflated charges; case resolved with significant financial recovery for clients, dismissal of all claims asserted by cleaning company, and of course the return of their property. (2022)
